Well, perhaps an Ashes series in Australia where they remain in contention to win back the Ashes once the opening games are done.

That will not be happening this time, though, after a comprehensive 82-run win in Adelaide put the hosts 3-0 up for the fourth successive Ashes series on Australian grounds.

"People in the office has been making comments about it being over for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"We always thought that we would have something to play for by the time we arrived."

"It will be a wonderful trip regardless," said Katie. "We have to go with that mindset."

"Of course, it's disappointing we aren't fighting for more, but we have invested a significant amount already."

"We plan to savor celebrating the holidays out there. This will be a new experience for us traveling during the festive period."

A schoolteacher, Katie is intent on maximizing the lengthy journey as part of her seasonal break.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I've got golf to turn to," Katie concluded.
