These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year. Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings. Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year. The finalists were announced live on a popular morning radio program. The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th. The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT. Michelle Agyemang Age: 19 Sport: Football A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros. She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final. Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament. Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent. She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer. Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October. "Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters." Littler's Profile Age: 18 Sport: Darts Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history. He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final. His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins. He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time. At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record. "Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts." Davina Perrin Age: 19 Sport: Cricket Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August. Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s. It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition. Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year. "I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin.
